Anyone else feel this way when you see Kai-lan? I've been hoping for so long for this show to really take off. Yes, it's partly about having Hannah identify with characters on television that share her ethnicity. Even more so... it's knowing that my child's peers are also at home eating Cheerios and drinking juice from their sippy cups while repeating how to say "jump" in Mandarin and learning about dragonboat races.
Woah. This is my 700th blog post. Kinda makes me feel ultra-nerdy tonight.
Oh man, now I'm going to HAVE to take another little trip to Target!! I was just there this week, but stayed strong and didn't even peek at the clothing section.
ReplyDeleteI think Ni Hao Kai-Lan is so cute and love her. Bailey loves her. I want Breelyn to love her but she still prefers Yo Gabba Gabba. Isn't that weird? I'm still getting her the backpack for preschool though. :) Holli
ReplyDeleteThey have Kai-Lan stuff at Walmart too. We saw them last week. They had a Chinese lantern nightlight, a few Kai-Lan dolls and some other toys :)
