Black and White Wednesday - every leaf

the long road

every leaf

every leaf, a new discovery

I don't have much to write about this week, except that I'm so glad the weather is warming up and we can be outside to explore leaves and go down slides. Yesterday afternoon was beautiful and we went to the elementary school to check out the slides. Hannah went down each and every slide, even the highest and fastest ones. She had a runny nose but was a very happy girl. Thirty minutes later her attitude slid downhill and she's been a wreck ever since. After a trip to the pediatrician this morning, we learned that Hannah has double ear infections. No amount of Tylenol, juice, crackers, and holding her can comfort her for very long. Mama has boogers on each shoulder of her shirt and is very tired.

Our 2010 census mailing arrived yesterday. Taiwanese Americans and parents of Taiwanese Americans, be sure to check "OTHER ASIAN" and write in "TAIWANESE." Be counted. Be recognized.

  6. You Rock! Thanks for including the info in your post... Seeing this picture of Hannah in her "Stride Rites", reminds me to tell you that I had Allie's first pair Bronzed and they turned out adorable! They are exactly like the ones that Hannah has on, only a little more worn. If you've ever thought about having a pair of her shoes Bronzed, these would be a good pair to do!

  7. You know, I don't understand that census form... if we recognize Taiwan as a country, why can't we... anyways, preaching to the choir here.

  8. Tonggu Momma, You have to write in Taiwanese into the little boxes after checking "other Asian." It is not an option to check. The United States (and most other nations) does not formally recognize Taiwan as a country because China claims Taiwan.

  12. I am glad you including the video since I have been debating what to write in for my child (not Taiwanese, but his ethnicity is a bit of question mark). I wish the gov't would stop linking nationality to race because it really confuses the issue. My son's nationality is Vietnamese-American, but his ethnicity is not.

Great pic, BTW, she has really grown!
