Mamarazzi in search of...

I'm half joking/half serious here. I'm a mamarazzi in search of a Photoshop action that should be titled "bulb syringe." Actions are little quick tools that quickly process a photo for you in Photoshop... and I would so love to have one that made boogers disappear. (giggle) I took so many shots of HC today that were ruined by boogers. I swear... I'd wipe her nose... she'd get red faced and cry... and by the time she recovered from my Kleenex style mama-induced torture and was happy again... more boogers would come sliding down her nose! Ug! Here are a few from today that are less boogery.

silly stinker with boogers

silly stinker

Hannah's cousin came into the world Monday afternoon. We're very excited about this little bundle of love, hope to go visit him after Hannah's nap time today.

When we came home from Taiwan, Kevin's hands were feeling numb and he could hardly make a fist with one of his hands. Over the counter anti-inflammatories weren't cutting it, so he went to our nurse practitioner who prescribed tougher anti-inflammatory medication and x-rays. The x-rays came back degenerative disk disease, so he was referred to an orthopedic doctor who is a spine specialist. The orthopedic spine specialist sends him for an MRI and an EMG (I like to jokingly refer to this as his electric shock treatment test) and it comes back carpal tunnel in his wrists. Kevin comments that the EMG testing was really cool because the physician explained everything he was doing while hooking up electrodes down into specific nerves and shocking him... like it was a show on the Discovery Health channel. The orthopedic spine specialist is convinced that he needs carpel tunnel surgery because his carpel tunnel is severe, and refers him to a carpal tunnel surgeon in the same group. Kevin saw the carpal tunnel surgeon today who doesn't want to do surgery... but have him wear splints at night for several weeks to see if this improves. UG! We're so frustrated from being sent around and around to different physicians to find a cause and a treatment for Kevin's numbness in his hands. Hopefully these splints will help. Poor Kevin was so worried... when the numbness was really bad he was so scared that if it continued to get worse he wouldn't be able to take care of Hannah because he might drop her. Well, at least this is all coming on at one time with all of Hannah's appointments and we can max out our out of pocket expenses on our insurance.

  2. Let me know when you find a way to remove boogers from pictures. We're desperately in need of that function, too.

Hope the splints do the trick for Kevin. CTS is a pain in more ways than one, esp. when you have a little one to tend to.

  5. Ooooh. Poor Kevin... I hope you all get this resolved quickly! Must be so frustrating to get the run around!

Congratulations to your sister and the whole family on the newest little punkin!!! Can't wait to see a picture. :) Love the ones you took of HC. She always has the cutest outfits. :) (Duh... mama had retail therapy to help her through the wait!)

  6. If you go into photoshop, and one of the buttons on the left has a bandaid. Click that and pick healing tool or spot healing tool. Zoom in on HC face (boogers) and choose a small brush size. Just color over them with the brush, and they magically dissapear! I think it is the spot healing tool where you have to hold down alt. and click on a part of her face that doesnt have boogers. The tool picks up that color and then you can color over the boogers. Try going to the 'help' tab and type in healing tool, or spot healing tool.
    Hope that helps!

  7. OOOH, when you get that booger removal function, do let me know. . .we need it too! I have to sleep with those lovely braces as well, and my hands are still numb in throughout the morning, but they do help. It's so hard to carry a little one when you can't feel your hands, or they give out on you!! Praying for relief for Kevin. Carpal Tunnel is no joke.

  8. Taran4ms, The spot healing brush doesn't work so well for boogers becasue they are in the nostrils, and the nostrils are so contoured. There's shadows and highlights that should be there... and the boogers are clumpy and need smoothed out and not just recolored. I've tried this for little bits of booger... but HC's boggers are entire nostrils filled with yellow green snot running out the the nose and are just too much for this tool. The healing brush does a much better job on pimples than globs of snot.
