On the way, I decided that we should call our friend Amy to see if she was up for a little visit. Of course, Amy was thrilled to have us over, and we had a lot of fun giggling at the differences between the bodies of her BIG "chunk of love" born in August and our little petite preemie born in January.
When we changed diapers, someone joked, "I'll show you mine if you show me yours." Daddy said sternly, "Hannah, don't look over there." She's not allowed to date until she's 30.
Hannah test drove Cooper's exersauser and had a great time... such a great time that we came home with an exersauser as well as more bottles from Babies R Us. Fun times!
Developmentally, Hannah pulls to a stand very well and is quite steady when holding on to something. She doesn't sit particularly well, as she tips over quite often. She crawls, but doesn't seem to want to work so hard at it. I have a feeling this is due to spending a lot of time in her crib, and I'm confident this will greatly improve as we have her on the floor playing and encouraging her more and more.
Last night was a great night for sleep. This is the first time that she only woke up once for a bottle. Sleep is grand! Now, if we could just get her to poop again without the need for a glycerine suppository. The prunes aren't cutting it, and she doesn't like baby pear juice. Sounds like Miralax is in her future.
Hurray for surviving your first road trip with a young child. You deserve a gold star and a humongous trophy for that feat.
ReplyDeleteLike William, I'm sure that Hannah Claire will really start jumping from milestone to milestone now that she's home with you. I know SLC did the best they could, but nothing can spur the development that one-on-one time can. Congrats on your first better night of sleep. It only gets better and better.
Miralax is an everyday thing at our house for Allie! It's just a given and if it is ever forgotten by mistake, we all pay for it!
ReplyDeleteShe prefers it in her applesauce, but will still take it in babyfood sweetpotatos as well. Go for it, it won't hurt her all all! Wonder why so many of our babies are constipated these days? Hmmmmm
I thought it was the formulas, but Allie is down to only 3 bottles a day and is sucking down water and eating great and is still constipated. I don't get it...
Glad that you are getting some sleep and that she is such a happy baby girl!
You can get juice mixes like"pear/white grape" "Apple/pear", etc.
ReplyDeleteBen did well with the white grape.
Try one of those.
She looks great.
Andrea
yes, the juice worked well for us (a couple of ounces diluted a couple of times a day. Also, no bananas, applesauce, rice or cereal while constipated-they bulk babies/toddlers up. Try high fiber baby foods like pears, peas, peaches. My baby girl did not like prunes either. Keep her legs doing those bicycle exercises. She'll get it moving soon.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait for a pic of her in the Exersaucer! I love her smiles!!
Fun, fun - so good to see Hannah Claire at home :-)
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Mel
hannah daddy u are so cute! hannah is not even 3 years old!
ReplyDeleteHey Kevin - did you get all the pieces/parts put on? I recall how long it took us. Thanks for coming over - I really needed that yesterday!!!
ReplyDeleteSarah,
ReplyDeleteKaro syrup works well too... put
1 tablespoon of Dark Karo syrup into her warm bottle.. of 6oz of formula.. do that and she will be pooping!
Poor Hannah..
Did you get your Britax set up for her? Once you get it right.. you will love the Britax... keep in mind while she is turned backwards it is a little bit harder to use.. when she turns one and can face forward it's much easier
With love from Texas-
