It was meant to be.

Tonight Kevin and I had our anniversary date at a Japanese Steakhouse in the Fort. I think we had the best steak we've ever had. Two thumbs up. We sat at a table with three little elementary school aged girls with their families, and couldn't help but smile at the happy families... and dream of taking our daughter out wherever she wanted to go for her birthday dinner.

After dinner we went to Babies R Us and hemmed and hawed at car seats. We decided to go ahead and get some more of our essential items so we knew that we could leave quickly for Taiwan if the call came. I've had my sights set on a Britax Marathon for some time, but Kevin has his eyes on another model (edit by Kevin: Britax Boulevard CS). We couldn't agree, so we decided to wait it out a little bit.

Our next stop was at the NEW Target. Oh boy, oh boy. We adventured in the baby section for awhile and picked out some essentials. When we rounded the corner into the car seat isle... it's like the clouds parted, rays of sunshine beamed down, the symphony started playing... all for this one car seat. (Drum roll please...)

Presenting... a pink and brown Britax Marathon... and the fabric is called "Hannah." Yes, I'm serious! It's really called Hannah. No discussion. Little blossoms and polka dots too. Kevin lifted the big box into the cart. It was meant to be.

  2. A Hannah chair made especially for YOUR Hannah! I love that model. Of course it came out after Miss Gracyn's were purchased. Had Britax named it "Gracyn" I would have lifted it into the cart myself even if we didn't need it! LOL

  3. Yep, I know how you feel :)

We have the same model just in cow-mooflauge print!

They are such great seats and the strap velcro thing that holds the straps to the side to get baby in and out - worth a million bucks!

  5. I love Jackie's comment!

Very nice looking car seat. I always went with "unisex" prints because we never knew what we were having with our 3 kids. BUT, since we've gotten rid of most everything now, and we KNOW we're adopting a girl... we'll go all out on girly stuff this time!

BTW - we love our Britax Marathon. It has been going strong for 2 kids so far.

  8. Just love the pattern on this carseat! Like strollers, we've been thru several carseats and I have to tell you, the Britax Marathon is, by far, the most comfortable one for them.

  9. LOVE, LOVE your carseat! And you will love Britax! We were given one at a shower for our daughter who is now 8 and it was passed down to our second daughter a few years later. She happened to be in two car accidents while in her Britax! Neither our fault, one rear ended me into another car at a stop light and totalled our car (into an accordian!) and the other was in my parents Expedition...a man crossed into my parents' lane and struck Sydey's door no less. The man actually lost his life and the door of the Expedition where Syd was was destroyed...but she slept through it!!!!!!! So way to go, I wouldn't have any other car seat! She will look beautiful all perched up in it and it will keep her super safe!
    Hugs,
    Kam

    Happy Belated Anniversary!!!
