tix to TPE

We've got tickets! I found a great deal... considering this is the most expensive time of year to travel. If there are any Taiwan adopting families traveling over the holidays, check out Northwest business class for sure... and please contact us as we'd love to meet up with you! I consulted with Todd the travel agent that lots of families talk about using on the Taiwan adoption message boards... and the Northwest flight I found is well over $2000 less per person than anything he could get me for business class. There weren't many seats left on the days I wanted to travel, so we needed to make these flight arrangements asap.

Saturday 12/20 in the morning - leave for Taiwan
Sunday 12/21 in the evening - arrive in Taipei
I'm still working on what we'll do that week. I'm looking at taking an English speaking bus tour for a few days to places we want to see outside of Taipei.
Friday 12/26 - travel south to Tainan, have dinner with a friend
Saturday 12/27 - tour Tainan with a friend
Sunday 12/28 - tour Pingtung County (southernmost county in Taiwan where Hannah was born)
Monday 12/29 - meet Hannah, take high speed train back to Taipei
Tuesday 12/30 - AIT visa appointment
Wednesday 12/31 - pick up visa at AIT, watch Taipei 101 fireworks from a hotel
Thursday 1/1 - ? Too expensive to fly home this day!
Friday 1/2 - fly home

And... thank you to Amy for volunteering to watch Sedona the babydog for part of the time while we're gone. I know that she'll be in good hands. I just hope that she behaves, doesn't lick too much, and won't teach Wrigley any bad manners.

I can't think of anything funny enough to say about this photo. It speaks for itself.

  7. Sarah,

How exciting. I know the next few days and weeks will fly for you!! Do you know if Taiwan gets into Christmas like we do here?

I do hope you have a laptop and have plans to blog while there. I also hope you will continue blogging after the arrival of Miss Hannah Claire!

I bet you already have your suitcases out and a list or two written out!

By the way, are you going to be calling her (in everyday life) Hannah or Hannah Claire?

  16. Very very exciting. I bet you are just beside yourself and can't wait to get on that plane. I have been fooling around and checking out flights and by gosh you are right they are really high this time of year. So glad you found a good rate. I'm a little green here and don't know who "Todd" is...perhaps you can share the info with me. The tour in PingTung sounds great. That is where Ryan is from also.

  18. I just had to come back and make a comment. Looking at this photo of Kevin, he would make a very good Santa Claus. I'm serious. :)
