pink in the wash

babyclothesinwasher1

I've waited a long time to do this. Just pulling the tags off the items was a leap of faith. Actually putting them in the washer is SO exciting. I know, I know. Many of you are just rolling your eyes at me, thinking of all of the puke, spit up, and poo you've put in the laundry before and it's no big deal. This is a big deal. This makes it all feel so real... doing my daughter's laundry. Oh wow. It's like... really happening!

Kevin poured in the detergent, as he wanted to help. That's pretty sweet!

It's the time of the month for updates. I find myself waking up in the middle of the night checking e-mail... as good news seems to come our way at 3am. Come home soon, baby girl.

  1. I am not rolling my eyes. I'm covered in goosebumps for you. And, I'm THRILLED to be the FIRST to post a comment tonight! It's like a crazy race to see what's going on in your home! I can't imagine what happens when you post THE news or those first pictures of you and Miss Hannah Claire. You weren't kidding girlfriend - you are in no need of clothes. Glad I complied. . .sending love your way as you finish up the pink load and the last of your wait. Your timer is going off! Your journey is on the rinse cycle. Hugs, Tiff

  11. No worries! You're just nesting, that's all! I still remember pouring that Dreft into our washer the first time for our daughter, Kennedy. I was only 7 months pregnant with her at the time but it's the same with you. This process has been like a pregnancy and those "birth pains" are starting to kick in! Get ready! Life will never be the same but will never be sweeter either!
    She's coming...

  13. Ok I admit freely I rolled my eyes a tad at the top to bottom baby proofing and the doggy carseat, but I totally, 100% get this one!

I remember the first load of laundry I did before each of my kids. There is a giddyness to it. They are so sweet, and so tiny. Something about washing, drying, breathing in, folding, and putting aways those little things make it all so much more real.

My thoughts are with you...I hope it comes very very soon!

  16. Isn't it fun! I loved seeing all of the blue. I have lots of hand me downs- the first 3 loads were fun. The 4th and 5th? It lost a bit of it's novelty!

  17. Every single one of us have done the VERY same thing!
I wish I could have seen your face the first time you took that bib out of the dryer, and stuck it up to your nose, and got a big whiff of that DREFT. The only thing sweeter will be the smell of that little pumkin COVERED in baby loton! Now THAT is SWEET!
