Arg! I didn't do the math right. Our adoption fees went up $1300 and not $800. Well, I'm just going to have to start buying toilet paper instead of using all of these $20 bills we just have lying around the house.
Dad, I didn't catch the "multiple fee fee" when doing my calculations. Gets ya every time.

I have been expecting the increase since many other agencies have made fee increases as well. I know that maintaining the licenses to adopt internationally can be very expensive. When I read about New Hope adoption (closed transferred Taiwan program to JOH) they said that the cost of maintaining the standards required to be an adoption agency was too high for them. It is tough to have the increase so close to your referral. However, from my experience toliet paper is less scratchy than 20.00 bills so you are benefiting on some levels (HAH). Vonne
ReplyDeleteI'm with you. This announcement comes the very same week we've decided send Dean to an academy next year (as opposed to homeschool) for kindergarten, AND we've decided we need to fly to England soon to visit my family. Money. Money. Money. Blech.
